Focus on highlighting the back
It is a no brainer that when you wear a backless dress, you want to highlight and draw attention to the stunning open back design, allowing your back and shoulders to be the star of the show. There a few key ways you can style backless dresses to ensure the low back design is the focus, yet also ensuring the front of the dress gets its moment, and that you feel confident and comfortable in your chosen look.
1. Jewellery and accessories
Your choice of jewellery and accessories that accompany your dress will depend on the front of the dress, the neckline, the fabric, and the parts of your body you want to be a feature of the look. If wearing a maxi length backless dress like our Ciara Gown with a classic v-neckline, you could opt for a simple thin chain necklace, and either a bangle or some drop earrings. If you choose a backless dress style that has a halter or high neckline, like our Phoebe Gown or Brigitte and Gabrielle Miniโs, don't wear any necklaces, but opt for a statement earring and matching bangle.

2. Hair
When wearing a backless dress, your hairstyle will play a big role in ensuring the open back design is accentuated. If you have long hair, we recommend pairing your dress with an up-do look. Our favourite ways to wear your hair up is either a classic loose bun, or a chic, styled ponytail. If you are wanting to have your hair out, we find a natural, wavy look is a beautiful way to accentuate your natural hair, whilst letting the back of the dress still be seen and adorned.
3. Underwear
One of the biggest reasons people struggle wearing backless dresses is finding the right underwear that is hidden yet comfortable. Of course it depends on cup size, however our team find when wearing backless dresses, but still wanting some coverage, nipple covers or stick on cups, that can be found at most lingerie stores, are the way to go. These ensure that nothing is showing at the back of the dress, but you feel still supported and covered. If you have a bigger bust or want more support, you can purchase more supportive backless bras at certain stores that can be worn with backless dresses.
